Frequently Asked Questions
LTD Company Accounting
Do I need an accountant in the UK?
Yes, every LTD company is required to maintain accounting records in accordance with UK standards. We offer professional accounting services with Polish-language support.
What reports am I required to file?
An LTD company must file annual financial statements (Annual Accounts) with Companies House and a tax return (Corporation Tax Return) with HMRC. Deadlines depend on the company’s financial year-end date.
Can I manage my own accounting?
Technically yes, but we recommend using professional accounting services due to the complexity of UK tax law. Errors can result in financial penalties.
UK Taxation
What is the rate of Corporation Tax?
Corporation Tax ranges from 19% to 25% depending on the company’s profits. For small companies with profits up to £50,000, the rate is 19%. Above £250,000 it is 25%. Between these thresholds, a marginal rate applies.
Do I have to pay Polish social insurance contributions (ZUS) when running an LTD company?
No, an LTD company, as a UK entity, is not subject to the Polish social insurance system (ZUS). A director as an individual may have other insurance obligations depending on their circumstances.
Branch in Poland
What is a foreign company branch?
A branch is a form of presence for a foreign company (e.g. an LTD) in Poland that does not require the formation of a new company. A branch does not have legal personality but may carry on business activity.
